Beermen hang tough, survive huge Dyip scare
The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) rose by 34.22 points or 0.54 percent to 6,399.16 as of market open on Tuesday, 1 July 2025, supported by early buying interest in blue chips and select petroleum and finance stocks.
Ayala Land, Inc. (ALI) topped early trading with P281.5 million in turnover, gaining 2.22 percent to P27.60. DigiPlus Interactive Corp. (PLUS) followed closely with P265.9 million in trades but slipped 1.15 percent to P51.40. Bloomberry Resorts Corp. (BLOOM) also remained actively traded, dipping 2.15 percent to P5.00.
Among the top gainers were Oriental Petroleum and Minerals Corporation "A" (OPM), which rose 10.00 percent to P0.011, and Manulife Financial Corporation (MFC), which surged 11.92 percent to P1,849.00. OPMB Holdings, Inc. (OPMB) posted the sharpest increase among early risers, jumping 20.00 percent to P0.012.
On the other hand, Upson International Corp. (UPSON) fell 4.05 percent to P0.71, while Atok-Big Wedge Co., Inc. (AB) dropped 3.94 percent to P3.90. Zeus Holdings, Inc. (ZHI) also declined, down 3.85 percent to P0.075.
