Pakil Senior High School received emergency kits and safety hats from Prime Infrastructure (Prime Infra) as part of its support for the Department of Education’s Brigada Eskwela, aimed at boosting disaster preparedness in schools.
The donation was part of a weeklong initiative led by Prime Infra Foundation, the company’s corporate social responsibility arm, from June 9 to 13. The program mobilized employee-volunteers across 15 schools in Batangas, Cavite, Cebu, Laguna, Pampanga, and Rizal to support classroom readiness ahead of the school year.
Volunteers participated in activities including classroom and facility cleaning, repainting, basic repairs, and the distribution of school supplies and equipment. In select areas such as Cebu and Rizal, medical missions were also conducted for teachers.
At Pakil Senior High School, the focus was on enhancing the institution’s disaster risk reduction efforts. “Magiging matagumpay po ang ating misyon na ihanda ang ating paaralan para sa pagbubukas ng klase,” said teacher Leah Mendiola, citing the importance of community support in education.
Miriam Galleros, a day care worker from Barangay Gonzales, added that the kits will significantly improve preparedness at their local day care center.
Prime Infra Foundation has supported Brigada Eskwela since 2023. This year, it allocated over ₱5 million to the initiative, reaching nearly 10,000 students and 400 teachers.
“Recognizing the vital role of education, we have made this initiative a yearly commitment,” the foundation said. “This year, we also prioritized the well-being of our teachers to help them prepare for the responsibilities of another school year.”
Prime Infra is the infrastructure arm of businessman Enrique K. Razon Jr., with operations focused on energy, clean water access, and waste management. The company says it aims to develop sustainable infrastructure that supports inclusive growth and national resilience.
