President Marcos inaugurates high-tech rice processing facility in Nueva Ecija
PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. leads the inauguration of the Rice Processing System (RPS) II Facility and the turnover of farm machinery in the Science City of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija, on June 30, 2025. This is part of efforts to modernize agriculture and uplift the lives of Filipino farmers. The state-of-the-art facility, developed by PHilMech through the RCEF Mechanization Program, is designed to enhance rice productivity and competitiveness by providing access to advanced postharvest technologies. With a processing capacity of 2–3 tons per hour, the RPS II features cutting-edge equipment including rice mills, dryers, and automated packing systems. Serving about 6,000 farmers across 9,200 hectares, the facility is expected to significantly improve efficiency and income in one of the country’s major rice-producing areas. Additionally, 17 farmers' cooperatives received new farm machinery, including tractors and rice combine harvesters, to further support mechanized farming.Photo by Yummie Dingding for DAILY TRIBUNE
