Anti-narcotics operatives of the Pasig City Police Station seized P1.6 million worth of high-grade marijuana following the arrest of a high-value individual in a drug buy-bust operation in Pasig City early Sunday morning.
The suspect, identified by the alias “Buknoy,” a 27-year-old delivery driver, was apprehended after attempting to sell illegal drugs to undercover police officers.
He was arrested in a highly coordinated operation conducted by operatives of the station's Drug Enforcement Unit along Sandoval Avenue in Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City, at around 2:45 a.m.
Among the recovered items were several packages of suspected marijuana (kush), including one heat-sealed transparent sachet, two self-sealing plastic bags, and one cling-wrapped bundle—all containing dried fruiting tops of marijuana. The total weight of the drugs exceeded 1,100 grams, with an estimated street value of P1,650,000.
Additionally, marked buy-bust money—including a P1,000 bill and a P500 bill—was confiscated, further supporting evidence of the illegal transaction.
The suspect now faces charges for violating Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. He was transferred to the Station Drug Enforcement Unit office for documentation and will undergo inquest proceedings before the Pasig City Prosecutor’s Office.
