The Provincial Government of Bulacan has ramped up its Mpox (Monkeypox) response through coordinated health measures, following the recent confirmation of two cases in San Jose del Monte.

Governor Daniel Fernando directed all local officials to prepare isolation facilities, monitor sanitation in private establishments, and launch public awareness campaigns to counter misinformation. Hospitals have also been reminded to ensure surge capacity and isolation readiness, while health offices were tasked to report suspect cases through national surveillance systems.

Two cases of the Clade II Mpox strain were confirmed but are now fully recovered, according to the City Health Office. Officials clarified the cases are not connected, and all close contacts were asymptomatic and have completed isolation protocols.

Dedicated hotlines have been established for patient referrals, and authorities emphasized there are no plans to implement lockdowns in the province.

Fernando assured residents that the provincial government is taking all necessary precautions to prevent further transmission.

The Department of Health advises the public to remain vigilant, practice proper hygiene, and seek medical consultation if symptoms such as rashes, fever, or swollen lymph nodes appear.
