An amazing dad

First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos took to social media on Sunday to greet her husband, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., a heartfelt Father’s Day message.

“Happy Father’s Day to the love of my life. Thanks for being the calm in our chaos and the king of our castle (even if I’m still the Queen),” she wrote.

“Today, we celebrate the man our children look up to… and the husband I still look at with love (and occasional exasperation). Love you forever.”

The post quickly drew warm responses from followers, including well-wishes for the President.

“Happy Father’s Day po,” commented Feng Shui Master Hanz Cua.

“Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there, including our President. Thank you for your love and guidance,” wrote another.

The President’s three sons—Vinny, Simon, and Ilocos Norte Representative Zandro Marcos—also paid tribute to their father.

Vinny, the youngest, described President Marcos as someone who expressed all five love languages while they were growing up.

“My Dad always spent time with us. He gave us gifts. So yeah, best of all worlds,” he said. “My favorite bonding moments with my dad are just the time we spend together—kayaking or watching TV. Just being in the same room is nice.”

Vinny also recalled a key lesson: “Don’t let other people’s emotions get in the way of what you’re trying to do and what you believe in.”

“Happy Father’s Day, Pop. Thanks for always being there for me. And thanks for being someone that I can always look up to. Love you, Pop.”

Simon thanked his father for his unwavering support.

“I couldn’t have gone anywhere without you. I love you so much. And I hope you’re having the best Father’s Day possible. Love you to bits.”

Zandro, the eldest, expressed admiration not just for his father’s parenting, but also for his leadership.

“It’s an honor for me to learn from you daily. Thank you for everything you do for our family and for standing up for what you believe is right. I hope you can find a bit of rest today, despite your busy schedule.”

He added: “I couldn’t ask for a better dad, mentor, or someone to work with.”

Observed every third Sunday of June, Father’s Day is a global celebration of the love, guidance, and sacrifices of dads everywhere.
