Two individuals listed as most wanted persons were arrested in separate manhunt operations by the Rizal police Monday afternoon.
A 57-year-old artist, identified only by the alias Ado, a resident of Angono, Rizal, was apprehended based on a warrant of arrest for violation of Republic Act 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
He was arrested by operatives of the Angono Municipal Police Station in Barangay San Isidro in this town.
According to the 17-year-old victim, the incident occurred in February 2024 while he was playing skateboard with friends when he was threatened and forcibly taken away by the suspect, who later abused him.
In another operation, a 55-year-old construction worker, ranked as the number 9 most wanted person in the province, was also arrested in Barangay San Jose, Rodriguez, Rizal. He was apprehended based on a warrant of arrest for acts of lasciviousness.
The accused is the live-in partner of the grandmother of the victim.
The incident occurred on 27 October 2024 while the victim was getting clothes from her aunt's house when she was allegedly molested by the suspect.
The two accused are currently detained at the police stations that arrested them while the necessary process is being carried out for the filing of cases in court.
