SM Supermalls wins Tambuli awards for inclusivity, sustainability initiatives

Welcoming shoppers with autism and disability and adoption of smart technology to save power and water earned the SM Supermalls two honors at the 2025 Asia-Pacific Tambuli Awards, which recognizes businesses’ impact on the environment and society.

SM Supermalls president Steven Tan and executive vice president for marketing Jonjon San Agustin led company officials in receiving the Silver Tambuli Awards for inclusivity and sustainability from the University of Asia and the Pacific at the awarding ceremony held at the Grand Hyatt in Bonifacio Global City on 3 June.

SM Supermalls’ winning Mall for All campaigns include the Happy Walk for Down Syndrome, Angels’ Walk for Autism, and nationwide sensitivity training.

Its innovative green practices include Trash for Cash, e-waste recycling and coastal cleanups.

Aside from Tan, the people behind the success of the said programs are Hanna Carinna Sy, Grace Fornier Magno, Engr. Bien C. Mateo, Engr. Liza Bautista-Silerio, Atty. Pearl Jayagan, Royce Cabunag, Junias Eusebio, Cheryll Lat-Agsaoay, Belinda Bartolome-Gonzales and Richard Caluyo.

Also supporting are the SM Cares team, partners under the SM Cares Program for Disability Affairs, collaborators in sustainability initiatives and all employees of SM malls.
