Xinyx Design, one of Southeast Asia’s top fabless IC design firms, launched the Philippines’ first flexible learning platform for integrated circuit (IC) design and microelectronics on 9 May at Colegio de Muntinlupa.
The initiative, LABS by Xinyx, was unveiled in a ceremony attended by Muntinlupa City Mayor Ruffy Biazon, alongside education and industry leaders. It offers hands-on, industry-aligned training for students, educators, and professionals through online, in-person, and hybrid formats.
“LABS by Xinyx is the Philippines’ first premium, flexible platform focused on IC Design and Microelectronics. It’s designed to close the skills gap that limits the growth of our semiconductor industry,” said Xinyx President Charade Avondo.
The program supports the government’s push to strengthen the semiconductor sector, as outlined in President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s 2024 directive. Muntinlupa, home to 13 microelectronics firms and industry-grade academic labs, is positioning itself as a hub for innovation.
Avondo said Filipino engineers are recognized globally for their creativity and leadership. “It’s time we bring that level of innovation home,” she added.
