ONIC Esports is back on top after clinching the MPL Indonesia Season 15 title in a gripping best-of-seven showdown…
MPL Season 15 Finals MVP Alston "Sanji" Pabico was stunned after receiving the honor, following a grueling seven-game series against ONIC PH.
The 19-year-old midlaner played a pivotal role in Team Liquid PH's championship run, particularly with his commanding performance on mage heroes like Luo Yi. His clutch plays helped dismantle the reign of defending champion ONIC PH and secure the title.
Despite his stellar showing, Sanji remained modest about the recognition.
“I really thought it was Oheb,” Sanji told DAILY TRIBUNE. “Right after Game 7, I really thought it was Oheb because he had a really good showing, and he deserves it. I wondered why I was chosen.”
Oheb, a former M3 world champion, is widely credited for revitalizing Team Liquid PH after joining as the new gold laner. Known for his lethal Granger and Harith plays, Oheb had already won three MPL titles with Blacklist International and quickly added another in his debut season with Team Liquid PH.
While Sanji took home the MVP award, the young star made sure to share the spotlight with his decorated teammate.
