CYCLISTS take on one of Bohol’s winding climbs during the 2025 Giro d’Luca, surrounded by lush greenery and quiet roads.
Bohol’s scenic roads were once again filled with spinning wheels and wide smiles as Giro d’Luca returned for its 2025 edition, held from 23 to 25 May. The three-day cycling event, which isn’t about racing but about the ride, took participants through nearly 500 kilometers of stunning landscapes — Panglao’s coastline, Loboc’s riverside views, the iconic Chocolate Hills, and more.
Now in its twelfth year, Giro d’Luca has come a long way from being a private birthday ride. What started in 2012 as a personal celebration by Gianluca Guidicelli — known for his work in food, business, and multisport — has grown into a cherished tradition among cyclists who share a love for community, nature, and a good long ride.
This year’s Giro d’Luca continued its intimate format, welcoming a close-knit group of family members and friends who share a deep appreciation for cycling and the outdoors. Unlike a competitive race, the Giro d’Luca focuses on the experience of bringing riders together to foster camaraderie while enjoying some of the country’s most stunning routes.
“Celebrating life and community has always been at the heart of the Giro d’ Luca. For over a decade, it’s been incredible to see this passion for cycling grow among fellow athletes. We hope to keep that spirit alive on the roads of Bohol for many years to come,” said Gianluca Guidicelli, founder of the Giro d’Luca.
The 2025 edition of Giro d’Luca was made possible through the support of valued partners, with The Bellevue Resort Bohol and Bluewater Panglao Beach Resort serving as official hotel partners, providing exceptional hospitality and comfort to cyclists throughout the event. Nature’s Spring also returned as the official hydration partner, ensuring participants stayed refreshed and supported across every leg of the scenic ride.
Following the success of this year’s edition, the Giro d’Luca is set to return to Bohol in May 2026.
