The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) reported Monday that security personnel stationed at Pagadian Airport’s Runway 02 had spotted an eagle hovering inside the airport’s area of responsibility.
According to the CAAP, after Cebu Pacific flight 5J771, the first aircraft from Manila to Pagadian, arrived safely on Sunday, the eagle was properly secured and handed over right away to the Bureau of Animal Industry for appropriate treatment and handling.
There were no reported incidents or aircraft damage, and flight operations at Pagadian Airport remain normal as usual.
This demonstrates CAAP’s efforts to successfully manage animal threats by cooperating with environmental and aviation authorities. The agency ensures that protected species are handled properly while maintaining airport operations safety through regular field inspections and prompt on-ground action. Anthony Ching
