Workers inside the Light Industrial Science Park I (LISP 1) in Cabuyao, Laguna, will now have access to more affordable and eco-friendly transportation, following a new agreement to provide electric bus (e-bus) shuttle services within the 178-hectare property.
EEMI Fleet Management Inc. (EEMI), in collaboration with Assemblepoint Inc., has signed a five-year contract with the ICCP Group—the estate’s administrator — to roll out the service. EEMI President Edmund Araga, who also heads the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines, said the project will operate under a leasing program designed to support the daily transportation needs of employees in the industrial park.
Araga said that for the initial service, three electric buses will be leased by LISP 1, offering a P12 fare for employees, one way.
LISP 1 currently hosts 90 locators with an estimated 50,000-strong workforce.
Under the agreement, EEMI will serve as the official fleet service provider, deploying electric buses that promote low-emission, modern transport. Assemblepoint Inc. will provide technical and operational support to ensure efficient EV integration.
“This partnership marks a significant milestone in advancing sustainable transport within industrial zones. By integrating electric mobility solutions into LISP 1’s transport system, we are not only enhancing employee convenience but also actively contributing to the national effort to reduce our carbon footprint,” Araga said.
The program supports national green transport objectives and is expected to become a model for eco-conscious mobility in other industrial estates.
“With more than 90 companies benefiting from this shuttle system, the partnership is expected to serve as a model for similar eco-conscious transport initiatives across the Philippines,” Araga added.
Deployment of the electric buses is expected in the coming months, with routes and schedules to be optimized based on the operational needs of LISP I tenants.
