P1.3-M drugs, firearms seized
SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Authorities in Central Luzon have confiscated approximately P1.3 million worth of illegal drugs and a firearm during two separate buy-bust operations on 22 May.
In Guiguinto, Bulacan, a 44-year-old resident known as alias Anok was arrested in Barangay Panginay. Police seized 96.42 grams of suspected shabu valued at P655,600, a .38 caliber pistol with three live rounds, and the buy-bust money. Anok is listed on the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency's unified drug watchlist.
Meanwhile, in Guagua, Pampanga, a high-value individual identified as alias Bert was apprehended in Barangay Bancal. Officers recovered 100 grams of suspected shabu worth P680,000, five pieces of P1,000 marked bills, and a digital weighing scale.
Both suspects are currently in police custody for documentation and proper disposition. Charges under Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being filed against them. Additionally, alias Anok faces charges under Republic Act 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, in relation to the Omnibus Election Code.
