ANGELES CITY, Pampanga — The City Government officially opened the 6th Puso Center Primary Care Facility in Barangay Anunas on 21 May.
Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. led the opening of the primary care facility as part of his thrust to bring health services closer to every Angeleño.
“Even as my term comes to a close, my commitment to the health and well-being of every Angeleño remains unwavering. Bringing essential services closer to our communities is not just a promise — it is a responsibility I proudly carry until the very last day,” Mayor Lazatin said.
Currently, the city has already completed and inaugurated primary care facilities in Barangays Pulungbulu, Tabun, Pulung Maragul, Cutud and Malabanias. This is the sixth of the nine primary care facilities Lazatin promised during his State of the City Address in June 2024.
One more facility in Barangay Amsic is set to open today, 22 May, while the remaining two in barangays Capaya and Balibago are scheduled for inauguration soon.
From only six Rural Health Units when he took office in 2019 — located in Barangays Pandan, Sto. Domingo, Lourdes Sur East, Lourdes Northwest, Pulung Cacutud and Balibago — Angeles City will now have 15 primary care facilities upon the completion of the three remaining centers.
The newly opened facility features a dental clinic, consultation and laboratory rooms, a physician’s office, pantry, storage space and a pharmacy stocked with essential medicines, ensuring more accessible and comprehensive health services for Angeleños.
The city government also hired additional doctors, dentists, pharmacists and dental aides to enhance the efficiency and quality of health services offered to Angeleños.
Joining Mayor Lazatin in the inauguration were Councilors JC Parker-Aguas and Marino “Niknok” Bañola, along with city government department heads and chiefs of offices.
