FREEPORT AREA OF BATAAN — The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) cited that the Freeport Area of Bataan has recorded import-export (impex) transactions worth $4.88 billion for the year 2024.
According to AFAB, the strong trade figures is due to 27,094 impex transactions conducted during last year.
The AFAB broke down the figure, citing that the import value reached $3.77 billion due to the recorded 13,617 transactions, marking a 514.62 percent jump compared to 2023’s import value that was recorded at $610 million.
For the export value, the Bataan Freeport logged 13,477 export transactions for 2024 worth $1.11 billion, reflecting a 5.94 percent increase from the previous year’s $1.05 billion.
AFAB cited that the surge in trade volume reflects heightened industrial activity and expanding operations within FAB as more locators scale up production.
“The FAB’s strategic incentives, infrastructure support, efficient customs processes, and strategic location continue to drive its competitiveness,” the agency added.
