Gianni Dori, CEO and Owner of Rodo.
Romualdo Dori’s woven wicker handbags was so successful that in 1956 he was able to build a factory for it in Mogliano in the Marche region.
In 1961, he began producing bags in leather as well as those in wicker using materials from the company’s in-house workshop. Shortly after, Rodo began to produce bags in crochet and metal. In 1975, footwear production was started.
Since 2010, the third generation of the Dori family become part of the company. Martina, daughter of Romualdo’s son Maurizio, joined in the design office, working on the design and creation of bags and leather goods.
Giorgio and Lorenzo, the grandchildren of Romualdo from his son Gianni, takes care of the artistic direction and creation of footwear and the commercial area.
International expansion of the brand followed. In 2012, RODO opened its first mono-brand store in Milan, in Corso Matteotti. This was followed by stores in Jakarta, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Beijing and most recently in Manila.
For the brand’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection, Rodo is re-presenting its wicker bags by updating its shapes and combining them with natural leather. Bags now come in various sizes with new shopping bag for the go-getters.
Colors were experimented for this collection: Natural dyes were combined with hues of blue, coral, mimosa and khaki. These are embellished with flowers, leaves and roots of medicinal plants to perfectly capture the spirit of the season.
In terms of footwear, sling backs and sandals are designed with full strass cages or soft mesh worked with pearls and strass. Shoes and sandals are characterized by details of various shapes: toe pieces and plates, all crafted in wicker to create unique styles, likewise for heels, both block and cone.
Accessories like bows and braids, meanwhile, are made from a mesh of crystals shaded in various nuances of blue and pink, gold and silver.
Rodo conveys in the best possible way the craftsmanship and quality that have always been its hallmarks.
