Globe Telecom is increasing its efforts to provide reliable, high-speed internet to more Filipino households through the expansion of both its fiber and 5G technologies, as the initiative aims to deliver affordable, flexible, and high-quality connectivity across the country.
"Connectivity is an enabler of progress," said Carl Cruz, Globe’s president and Chief Executive Officer, in a statement.
"By expanding our network infrastructure, we are unlocking access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities for millions of Filipinos. Globe remains steadfast in working with industry partners and the government to ensure inclusive digital access," he added.
The company highlighted its GFiber Prepaid (GFP) service, noting its appeal to households preferring no long-term contracts or large upfront payments. GFP offers a plug-and-play setup, reloadable options, and management via the GlobeOne app. Globe reported that most GFP users reload their service every three to four weeks.
Globe also cited that GFP has a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 67, significantly higher than the Telco Industry average of 31 (Transaction NPS), indicating strong customer satisfaction with the speed and overall prepaid fiber experience.
To further enhance accessibility, Globe is expanding reload options through AMAX and ECPay.
In addition to fiber, Globe is pushing its 5G WiFi through Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) to deliver fast, reliable internet in areas where fiber deployment is challenging, particularly in underserved communities. This approach also helps to offload traffic from Globe’s mobile network, improving overall service quality.
Looking ahead to 2025, Globe outlined plans to expand access, deepen customer engagement, and enhance the customer experience.
The company also aims to bridge the digital gap in remote areas by extending fiber connectivity to an additional 100 Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDAs), increasing the number of cell sites in these areas from 600 to 700 by the end of the year.
Globe stressed its commitment to customer-focused innovations and the deployment of both fiber and 5G technologies to provide better connectivity for more Filipino families, enabling them to thrive in the digital environment.
