PALAYAN CITY, Nueva Ecija — The 84th Infantry (Victorious) Battalion hailed Lieutenant Colonel Romy Andres as the new Acting Commanding Officer at Fort Ramon Magsaysay.

Major General Joseph Norwin Pasamonte, Division Commander of the 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division, Philippine Army, presided over the Change of Command Ceremony of the 84IB as Andres takes over the helm from Colonel Jerald Reyes, who has been appointed as the new Assistant Chief of Staff for Civil-Military Operations.

In his speech, MGen. Pasamonte lauded the accomplishments of the 84th IB under Col. Reyes’ leadership, noting that the unit lived up to its moniker “Victorious” by successfully dismantling the Central Luzon Regional Committee of the Communist Terrorist Group, among other notable achievements in administration, intelligence, and civil-military operations.

Col. Reyes expressed his gratitude to the 7ID Commander and his mentors for their guidance and support, and extended his appreciation to the victorious troopers and Task Force Agila for their collaborative efforts in suppressing insurgency in the region.

LTC Andres, in his remarks, vowed to continue the legacy built by his predecessor, with a commitment to further strengthen peace and security within the battalion’s area of operations.

The Change of Command Ceremony marked not only the formal transfer of leadership and responsibilities but also the seamless continuation of excellence, discipline, and service to the nation.
