Polling firm Pulse Asia has clarified reports of a recent survey released allegedly by the camp of former President Rodrigo Duterte claiming the Duterte family leads in various races.
This comes as the polling firm flagged the alleged survey, which indicated Duterte holding a significant lead over his Davao City mayoral rival, Karlo Nograles.
The survey, dated 26 April to 6 May 2025, was posted on the Facebook page Maisug Mindanao that claimed other Duterte family members running for office were allegedly ahead in their respective contests.
Pulse Asia President Ronald Holmes issued a statement denying any involvement in the survey.
"We wish to clarify that Pulse Asia did not conduct any of this survey," Holmes said. "We strongly denounce the unauthorized use of our name to spread false or misleading information."
The fake survey allegedly triggered online backlash, with social media users accusing the Duterte camp of disinformation.
Rodrigo Duterte is currently detained in The Hague, Netherlands, facing charges of crimes against humanity related to alleged extrajudicial killings during his administration's drug war.
