After teasing the models back in February, JMC Philippines — now backed by Astara — has officially opened preselling for its new electric cars, the JMEV EV2 and EV3.

Let’s start with the smaller one. The JMEV EV2 is built with the city in mind. It’s compact at just 3.5 meters long, making tight turns and narrow streets less of a headache. With a modest 26 kW motor (that’s around 35 hp) and 84 Nm of torque, it’s no speed demon, but it’ll do just fine zipping through traffic and climbing slopes. It tops out at 105 km/h, and its 15.86 kWh battery can take you as far as 201 kilometers on a single charge — more than enough for daily errands or a commute.

Inside, it fits four people and keeps things simple. There are PVC leather seats, 14 spots to stash your stuff, and a small 105-liter trunk. The dashboard sticks to analog controls and a basic 2-speaker setup. Safety-wise, JMEV didn’t cut corners — it has a steel-aluminum body, an impact-absorbing design, and triple-sealed protection to keep dust and water out of its essential components.

The JMEV EV3 delivers a more powerful and spacious electric drive, with up to 330 km of range and room for five.

If you need a bit more room and range, the JMEV EV3 is a step up. It has a stronger 50 kW motor (about 67 hp), 125 Nm of torque, and can go up to 115 km/h. The battery is bigger at 31.15 kWh and stretches the range to around 330 kilometers. It’s slightly longer at 3.72 meters and seats five, with 177 liters of cargo space. This one also gets more creature comforts like a touchscreen infotainment system, dual airbags and ABS brakes.

Both models aim to strike a balance between being practical, affordable, and easy to live with, especially for folks looking to shift to an EV without breaking the bank.

As for pricing, it’s not final yet, but JMC Philippines says the EV2 should land somewhere between P660,000 to P680,000, while the EV3 will be around P780,000 to P800,000.

If you’re curious about the EV2 or EV3 — or maybe even thinking of reserving one — you’ve got a few easy ways to reach out.
