More than 10,000 Filipinos from across the country came together at SM malls nationwide to participate in the ASP Angels Walk for Autism, a growing movement dedicated to promoting disability inclusion and support for individuals on the autism spectrum.

The walk, organized by the Autism Society Philippines (ASP) in partnership with SM Cares, gathered families, educators, advocates, and allies in a heartfelt show of solidarity in cities including Lipa, Lucena, Iloilo, Tuguegarao, Davao, Butuan, Baguio, Bacolod, and Cebu. In Malaybalay, local groups also organized their own inclusive event to extend the movement’s reach.

The series of regional gatherings, held in the activity halls of SM malls, serves as a lead-up to the largest event of the campaign: the culminating ASP Angels Walk for Autism happening on 18 May 2025 at 7:00 AM at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. Organizers expect this final event to draw thousands more in what is anticipated to be the largest nationwide celebration of autism inclusion to date.

More than just a symbolic walk, the initiative highlights the ongoing call for acceptance, accommodation, and appreciation of individuals with autism, as well as their families. For many attendees, the walk was a space to celebrate neurodiversity, advocate for inclusive policies, and connect with others in the autism community.

SM Cares, the corporate social responsibility arm of SM Supermalls, has long supported efforts for disability inclusion, with SM malls regularly hosting accessible programs for the sector.

Registration for the event is free and open to the public. Participants are encouraged to join and walk not just for themselves, but for loved ones, friends, or anyone who deserves to be seen, heard, and valued.
