Hard-hitting Llover signs with Kameda

Orient-Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) bantamweight champion Kenneth “Lover Boy” Llover, the country’s brightest hope for a world title, has signed a promotional agreement with Kameda Promotions.
The development was revealed on Wednesday by two-division world champion Gerry Peñalosa, who just arrived from Tokyo where he met with Kameda Promotions chief executive officer Tomoki Kameda to finalize the deal.
Under the contract, Kameda Promotions will bring the unbeaten Llover to Nagoya in September for a title elimination match with Christian Medina Jimenez of Mexico.
Medina, 25, who hails from Guadalajara in Jalisco State, packs a 24-4-0 win-loss-draw record with 17 knockouts.
The southpaw Llover, 22, has a 15-0-0 card with nine knockouts. His last two fights both ended in the first round.
He had won the OPBF 118-pound crown with a first-round destruction of Keita Kurihara last March at Tokyo’s famed Korakuen Hall.
While Peñalosa runs the affairs of Llover, Dioceldo Sy, owner of Blackwater squad in the Philippine Basketball Association, and former fight manager Elmer Anuran, also have a stake in Llover’s career.
Currently, Llover is ranked No. 15 by the World Boxing Council and No. 11 by the International Boxing Federation.
