Senator Christopher “Bong” Go reaffirmed his full support for the welfare, safety, and livelihood of motorcycle riders during the Angkas Safety Fiesta on 27 April.

The event, organized by Angkasangga Partylist’s George Royeca, drew around 1,000 riders, advocates, and stakeholders.

Go, a longtime motorcycle enthusiast, emphasized the importance of initiatives like the Safety Fiesta in promoting road safety and improving the livelihood of riders. He commended Angkas for its role in road safety and providing livelihood opportunities.

“This Angkas Safety Fiesta is proof of our collective efforts for the safety of our motorists and passengers,” Go said in Filipino. “Such initiatives are essential in broadening the knowledge and discipline of our riders.”

Go also discussed Senate Bill No. 2555, which amends the “Doble Plaka” Law to require plates only on the back of motorcycles. He also highlighted Senate Bill No. 1184, aimed at protecting delivery riders from unfair practices like fake bookings and non-payment.

“As a legislator, I will continue to advocate for the safety and rights of our riders,” Go said, adding his support for regulating motorcycles-for-hire.

As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Health, Go encouraged riders to enroll in the PhilHealth Konsulta Program for free consultations and health benefits.

“Let us remember that all Filipinos are members of PhilHealth. It is your right to get free consultations and use health benefits,” Go said.

Go also reflected on his partnership with Angkas, recalling their shared goals during the previous administration. He paid tribute to former President Rodrigo Duterte and his advice: “Prioritize the welfare of the Filipino, and you will not go wrong.”

Go pledged to continue working for riders’ welfare and safety if re-elected. He also encouraged riders to support the full slate of “Duterten” senatorial candidates.

Earlier in the day, Go led a motorcade in Pangasinan, emphasizing his commitment to connecting with communities and bringing government services closer to the people.

“We will continue to serve you because serving is my passion,” Go said.
