Several people have been killed and numerous others injured after a driver plowed into a crowd at a Filipino street festival near E. 41st Avenue and Fraser Street in Vancouver, shortly after 8 PM on Saturday (Sunday, Philippine time), according to Vancouver police.

The driver has been taken into custody, and authorities are investigating the incident.

A video shared on X shows a line of police vehicles stationed along Fraser Street near the intersection of 43rd Avenue.

Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim has published a statement on the incident on X (formerly Twitter), calling it "horrific" and confirming injuries and fatalities.
