President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Tuesday led the turnover of 91 Patient Transport Vehicles (PTVs) in Mindanao — 85 to Northern Mindanao and six to the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

“Of these 91, 68 beneficiaries are first‑timers… 68 of the recipients have never had an ambulance, a Patient Transport Vehicle in their history. So this is the first time they will have something like this,” he said.

Marcos added that the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) aims to distribute 985 PTVs to ensure every municipality has a vehicle available to transport patients.

So far, the government has delivered 567 PTVs in 2025; once the additional 985 are deployed, distribution will total 1,552 units.

With only 1,492 local government units nationwide, some LGUs will receive a second unit.

“When this happens, for the first time, we can say that all municipalities have 100 percent coverage in just three years. This, to me, is an achievement that has never been achieved in our history,” Marcos said.

He pledged continued support for healthcare in Mindanao and other underserved areas.

“To my fellow countrymen here in Northern Mindanao and in BARMM, you know how the system that should have been your foundation for a better life failed. But, you showed us how to rise up. You never gave up,” he said. “The same is true of your government, we will not stop thinking of other measures to provide the services you need,”
