JOLO, Sulu — The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), through Atty. Nabil Tan, a Member of Parliament (MP), has allotted P25 million to the Hassiman Elementary School in Barangay Tulay in this capital town for the construction of two units of two-story four-classroom buildings.
The P25-million project is funded through the 2024 Supplemental Transitional Development Impact Fund (TDIF) allocated by Tan.
The construction of two units of two-story four-classroom buildings started on Monday, and when completed, it is expected to improve learning conditions for both students and teachers.
According to MP Tan, the two buildings are designed to address overcrowding and enhance classroom facilities, and it will be equipped with standard furnishings from the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE), including student armchairs, teacher desks, blackboards, ceiling fans and separate restrooms for boys and girls.
MP Tan emphasized the project’s broader impact: “This is a significant step not only for the school but for the entire community. It reflects our continuing commitment to invest in the education and future of our children.”
During the groundbreaking of the two new buildings of the Hassiman Elementary School held last week, MBHTE officials, local leaders, educators, community members and other stakeholders attended the ceremony.
Barangay Tulay chairman Salip Utal Hairal, represented by its barangay administrator Ohara Hairal, extended the community members’ heartfelt gratitude to the Bangsamoro government, especially to MP Tan, for their unwavering support to Hassiman Elementary School.
