As Filipinos nationwide pause to reflect and reconnect with their faith this Holy Week, Kaunlad Pinoy #133 — a partylist group championing entrepreneurship and livelihood empowerment — joins the nation in solemn observance and collective prayer.

Kaunlad Pinoy encouraged every Filipino to embrace the spirit of the season not only as a time of remembrance, but also as an opportunity for personal and national renewal.

“Holy Week is when the nation slows down — not just to rest, but to reflect,” said Kaunlad Pinoy first nominee Kuya Choi. “As we remember the sacrifice of Christ, may we also be reminded of the values He lived by: compassion, humility and service to others.”

Known for its grassroots initiatives focused on business mentoring and sustainable livelihoods, Kaunlad Pinoy emphasized that the meaning of Holy Week transcends religion — especially for Filipinos facing continued social and economic challenges.

“For us in Kaunlad Pinoy, this is also a time to renew our commitment to serve,” Kuya Choi added.

Faith in action

The group also underscored that Holy Week is a reminder of the Filipino people’s resilience — rooted in faith and strengthened by community spirit.

“We see it in every market vendor who perseveres through hardship, in every small business owner who chooses hope over despair,” they said. “Kaunlad Pinoy’s mission has always been to stand with them — on ordinary days and holy days alike.”

“In silence, we find clarity. In sacrifice, we find purpose. Let this Holy Week remind us that our shared struggles and hopes unite us,” Kuya Choi added.

As Filipinos travel to their hometowns, observe Visita Iglesia, or simply spend quiet moments with family, Kaunlad Pinoy extended its warmest wishes to all for a peaceful, meaningful and reflective Holy Week.
