The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) announced on Thursday that its operatives seized suspected shabu worth an estimated P28.5 million during a recent buy-bust operation in Parañaque City, which led to the arrest of three suspects and the death of one.
In an operation in Barangay San Antonio at about 5 PM on 9 April, PDEA nabbed the identified suspects with aliases Lala, Allan, and Binny, and another suspect, identified by the alias "Sady," was killed.
Meanwhile, four PDEA agents sustained injuries during the ensuing gunfight.
Authorities recovered 4.2 kilograms of suspected shabu, along with a vehicle, mobile phones, buy-bust money, identification cards, drug paraphernalia, a firearm, ammunition, and various documents.
PDEA said the arrested individuals will be charged with violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The injured PDEA agents were immediately taken to a hospital for medical treatment.
