The Bureau of Customs (BoC) has revised its Integrity Action Plan (IAP) and is implementing it across all offices and collection districts and the strategic framework aims to strengthen institutional reforms, combat corruption, uphold ethical standards and align with international best practices.
In a statement, the BoC said that the ongoing monitoring and upgrading of the IAP is supported by the World Customs Organization’s Accelerate Trade Facilitation Program and aligns with the WCO’s Revised Arusha Declaration on integrity.
The revised IAP, which includes specific deliverables and an action plan, was developed by the BoC’s Integrity Working Group based on internal corruption risk analysis and previous evaluations.
