
DAVAO CITY — The Philippine Coast Guard and the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) seek to strengthen security protocols here for the Holy Week activities which will start on 13 to 20 April.
On Wednesday’s Davao Peace and Security Press Corps briefing, Philippine Coast Guard SEM spokesperson Ensign Winston Gonzales bared that strict security protocols will be observed especially on the city’s shore lines and beach resorts.
“For the 2025 Oplan Biyaheng Ayos Semana Santa and Summer Vacation, the Philippine Coast Guard will strictly enforce security measures for the Dabawenyos and guests in regards to their outing during the Holy Week. For now, we are still having ongoing inspections at the ports especially on the readiness of the boats going to Samal Island,” Gonzales said.
He further added that Philippine Coast Guard will be on heightened alert status starting on 13 to 20 April and will deploy its security on a 24-7 basis on ports and resorts.
The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) will also be on a heightened alert status during the Holy Week in an aim for zero incidents.
“The DCPO will provide security protocols on church activities during the Holy Week starting April 12. We also remind the public to secure their residences upon going out to attend the Holy Week activities,” DCPO spokesperson Capt. Hazel C. Tuazon said.
The DCPO will also have to coordinate with the barangay officials to ensure safety in their respective concerned areas.
“We will deploy our personnel starting on 12 April. We have to remind the Dabawenyos to be cautious,” she added.
