The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) reaffirmed its commitment to helping Filipinos in need through back-to-back charitable initiatives last week, benefiting persons with disabilities and underserved communities.
On 28 March 2025, PCSO Assistant General Manager for Charity Sector Arnel N. Casas led the turnover of 20 wheelchairs to the Cerebral Palsied Association of the Philippines, Inc. (CPAP). The ceremony, held at the PCSO Conservatory Building in Mandaluyong City, was attended by CPAP President Eunice Marie G. Factor, who expressed gratitude for the much-needed donation.
Factor underscored the ongoing challenges faced by persons with disabilities, especially in accessing mobility aids like wheelchairs. She praised PCSO’s efforts for easing these burdens and helping improve the quality of life for CPAP’s beneficiaries.
The donation is part of the PCSO’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program, which aims to provide critical support to underprivileged and vulnerable Filipinos.
A day earlier, on 27 March, the PCSO also held a Medical and Dental Mission in Barangay San Francisco Calihan, San Pablo, Laguna. The initiative, spearheaded by PCSO Director Imelda A. Papin and the Medical Services Department, provided free healthcare services to 206 residents.
Led by Dr. Rouel C. Aparato and Dra. Juliet E. Diaz, the medical team administered consultations to 171 patients and performed dental check-ups and extractions for 35 individuals. All patients received free medicine as part of the agency’s health assistance efforts.
The PCSO emphasized that both activities are part of its broader mission to provide essential aid and services, in line with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s directive to prioritize public health and well-being under the Bagong Pilipinas vision.
