TAGAYTAY CITY — Friendship and philanthropic spirit were on full display during the 8th Isla Cup Golf Tournament recently at the Tagaytay Highlands Golf and Country Club here.
A total of 110 golfers who are partners, customers and stakeholders of the organizing Isla LPG Corporation showed up to join a day full of friendly competition and camaraderie.
Proceeds of the tournament were donated to Alab Kalinga — the company’s corporate social responsibility arm.
According to Isla Petroleum and Gas Corporation chief executive officer Tomoaki Asai, the tournament’s main objective is to thank its customers and partners for their trust and confidence. After all, they regard them as the key drivers for their success and spending a day with them in the fairway is their way of valuing their business relationship with a long-term perspective.
“We are very happy that the 8th Isla Cup Golf Tournament was very successful and we really appreciate the participation of all our customers,” Asai said.
“In the past, our annual golf tournament was a means for our customers and partners to have fun and get together. But now, we also enjoin them to be part of our CSR which is Alab Kalinga making it a day of competitive golf with a cause.”
Jose Ricardo Delgado, Isla Group executive committee chairman, also expressed his gratitude to those who showed up to show their support to their objectives of building relationships while extending their helping hands to Alab Kalinga.
“We have been organizing the Isla Cup Golf Tournament for eight years as our way of bringing in our customers, partners and stakeholders together for a really fun morning and lunch together,” said Delgado, who graced the event together with chief operating officer Antonio “Banjo” Castillo.
“It’s also the best way to connect to our customers all in one event and this is also a way for us to show appreciation to them, and for us to treat them for a very good time.”
Delgado added that with the unwavering support of ILC and the participation of its customers and business partners, the event is poised to continue its tradition for years to come.
