Photo filters are among the trendsetting apps on social media as netizens like to share their filtered images to others. One such filter, powered by artificial intelligence, alters a user’s face to make it look older. Another makes a Lego version of one’s face.

Lately, the so-called chubby filter caused so much controversy that TikTok banned it from teenage users. The filter, which creates an overweight version of a user’s image, sparked a wave of user criticism, deeming shared images of chubby people as body shaming, BBC reported.

Reinforcing the ban was a warning by experts that the filter could fuel a “toxic diet culture” online and potentially contribute to eating disorders, according to BBC.

Add to that food and nutrition scientist Dr. Emma Beckett’s opinion shared to the BBC that the chubby filter promotes the false notion that fat is bad and people with large bodies should be avoided.

In a different case, a pregnant Reddit user shared to the online community her annoyance with her mother-in-law’s (MIL) cooking that she wanted to ban her from the kitchen.

She complained that the smell of her MIL’s cooking triggered her migraine headaches.

“I get extremely sick once the migraine hits, and I am currently pregnant and unable to take any medicines that will stop or help my migraines,” the woman wrote on Reddit, Fox News reported.

The woman asked Reddit users if it was all right to tell her MIL that if she was going to cook with so much fresh garlic, she could cook outside with the camping stove.

One commenter said absolutely she could tell her to take her garlic obsession outside, while another suggested: Remove all garlic from the house.
