If elected Makati City mayor in May, Luis Campos has vowed to use as blueprint the legacy of good governance left by his wife, outgoing Mayor and senatorial candidate Abby Binay.
Campos took the stage Saturday night during the Team United proclamation rally at the corner of P. Ocampo Extension and Chino Roces Avenue.
“I stand before you, Makatizens, to continue or even ‘better’ what Mayor Abby started. As she said, she would be happy if Kid and I could surpass what she and Monique have accomplished,” Campos declared.
Campos emphasized that “good enough” isn’t sufficient, stressing the need for continuous improvement to make things even better for the city and its residents.
Abby also attended the event, showing her support and encouraging Makatizens to back her husband and Team United. She promised that even after moving to the Senate, she wouldn’t abandon Makati.
The outgoing mayor vowed to guide, oversee and ensure her husband performs his duties effectively while making certain Team United continues to serve the people properly.
Abby stated that a vote for Campos would essentially be a vote for her. She also expressed gratitude to Makatizens for their trust during her nine years of service and for their continued support.
Team United’s lineup includes Campos, Binay, vice mayoral candidate Kid Peña, and Representatives Monique Lagdameo and Alden Almario.
The team’s District 1 councilor slate comprises Duka Alvarez, Martin Arenas, Virjhong Hilario, Carmina Ortega, Armand Padilla, Rebo Saguisag, Joey Villena and Alcine Yabut.
For District 2, the candidates are Hein Angeles, Doc Doris Arayon, Bong Ariones, Bodik Baniqued, Maffy Soler Calimbahin, Ed Marquez, Ina Sarosa and Bel Vitales.
