Makati Med expands sleep lab to enhance patient care

Makati Medical Center (MakatiMed) inaugurated its expanded Sleep Laboratory on 25 March 2025, at the MakatiMed Institute of Neurological, Neurosurgical, and Behavioral Sciences (M.I.N.D.S.). The upgraded facility is set to strengthen the hospital’s ability to diagnose and treat sleep disorders.

In his welcome remarks, Dr. Edgardo Juan L. Tolentino Jr., Director of M.I.N.D.S., emphasized the significance of the expansion in advancing Neuroscience and Sleep Medicine.

“Today, as we open the doors to this advanced facility, we take a major step towards realizing our vision of becoming the nation’s most trusted Neuroscience healthcare institution,” Dr. Tolentino said. “Sleep is fundamental to neurological and mental well-being. With this expansion, we integrate cutting-edge diagnostics and treatment while ensuring every patient interaction is guided by expertise and empathy.”

MakatiMed Medical Director and Interim Co-President & CEO Dr. Saturnino P. Javier congratulated M.I.N.D.S. and underscored the hospital’s continued investment in enhancing healthcare services, recognizing Neurology as a cornerstone program of MakatiMed.

Dr. Noel L. Rosas, Head of the Professional Services Group, concluded the event and reaffirmed the hospital’s commitment to excellence in Neuroscience and sleep health.

The expansion of the Sleep Laboratory is designed to accommodate more patients seeking sleep evaluations.
