Filipino VIPs are finally getting the concert announcement they have been waiting for.
Senatorial candidate Kiko Pangilinan expressed his belief on Monday that the global success of the P-pop group SB19 signals the rise of the Philippines’ own Hallyu Wave, similar to South Korea’s cultural export phenomenon.
“We are already number one in bars, cruise ships, and even in talent shows abroad. Now, SB19’s concerts are sold out not only at the Philippine Arena but also in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Toronto,” said Pangilinan, who is married to Megastar Sharon Cuneta.
He emphasized, “Pinoy pop will become a global sensation with the right vision and enough support from the government.”
Last weekend, SB19 made waves once again, walking the runway at the Bench Body of Work fashion show. They were joined by Kapuso talent Alden Richards and Kapamilya stars Kathryn Bernardo and Chie Filomeno in a dance challenge to their latest single, “DAM.”
