CITY OF BALANGA, Bataan — Dr. Albert Venturina, provincial veterinary officer, revealed Monday that two persons died from the dreaded rabies while six were being cured after being infected with the deadly virus.

“As of Monday, we have recorded eight cases of rabies, though, two of them yielded negative results. But last year, we have two death from rabies,” said Dr. Venturina in an interview with this writer.

According to Dr. Agata de Leon, provincial rabies coordinator, they received eight heads of dogs that bit eight persons in the province but said that only six of them carries the deadly rabies. The two other victims were found negative of the fatal virus.

Dr. Venturina said, however, that the eight severed heads of dogs will be still subjected to final laboratory test in the regional office for confirmation. 

Venturina asked the public to bring their dogs and cats at their office at the provincial capitol for anti-rabies vaccination.
