Anthony Pangilinan, brother of senatorial candidate Kiko Pangilinan, campaigned for him in Bacolod City, rallying support for his candidacy in the upcoming elections.

Representing the Pangilinan family, Anthony shared personal anecdotes highlighting his brother’s integrity, dedication, and legislative track record.

A business leader and former head of AIESEC International, Anthony recalled how Kiko’s advice helped him overcome challenges, particularly discrimination.

“I wanted to resign. Nang marinig ng kapatid kong si Kiko na ako’y magre-resign, aba, nagpadala ng mensahe. Sabi niya, ‘Do not resign, Anthony. You shine like a star because the world is getting darker. But you will notice—papansinin mo — the darker the night, the brighter the stars shine,’” he said.

("I wanted to resign. When my brother Kiko heard that I was going to resign, he immediately sent me a message. He said, ‘Do not resign, Anthony. You shine like a star because the world is getting darker. But you will notice — the darker the night, the brighter the stars shine.’")

Anthony emphasized Kiko’s legislative achievements and contrasted his record with other senatorial candidates.

“Hindi lang po ang kanyang pamilya, buong bayan ang kanyang pinaglaban. Tumulong siyang maipababa ang presyo ng pagkain. Halos dalawa, tatlong dekadang paninilbihan, wala pong bahid ng korupsyon. Tatlong daang batas ang naipasa at pinaglaban,” he stated.

("He did not just fight for his family; he fought for the entire nation. He helped bring down the price of food. In nearly two to three decades of service, he has remained free of corruption. He has passed and fought for 300 laws.")

“Hindi po tulad ng iba — tatlong daang batas ang tinaguan,” he added.

("Unlike others — who hid from 300 laws.")

He urged attendees to mobilize support for Kiko by reaching out to family, friends, and even former adversaries.

“That’s why we are here tonight. Sa palagay ko, hindi tayo nagkakaiba sa prinsipyo. But the reality is, hindi tayo mananalo kung tayo-tayo lang… Ang mga ex din niyo—kausapin ninyo! Dahil kailangan natin ang kanilang boto,” he said.

("That’s why we are here tonight. I believe we share the same principles. But the reality is, we won’t win if it’s just us... Talk to your exes too! Because we need their votes.")

Quoting his brother’s advocacy for accessible food, Anthony reiterated, “Walang kulay ang gutom. Walang kulay ang pagseserbisyo. Walang kulay ang tagumpay.”
