Aurora team captain Renejay expected nothing but respect between him and TNC roamer Yawi after their teams faced off at MPL Season 15 last Sunday at Green Sun Hotel in Makati.
Together with his teammates Demonkite, Domengkite, Yue, and Edward, Aurora defeated their fellow fan-favorite TNC Pro Team 2-1 to improve their perfect season standing to 5-0.
It can be remembered that in Week 2 of the regular season, TNC defeated Twisted Minds in a series that saw Yawi go to the opposing table to dance and taunt Outplayed.
Outplayed, Yawi's ex-teammate and current Twisted Minds gold laner, had a heated verbal scuffle with Yawi before MPL Season 15 started.
Regardless of the outcome between Aurora and TNC, Renejay was quite sure that there would not be taunting between him and Yawi.
"I don't think Yawi will do that to me because we are brothers for life and we respect each other," Renejay told Daily Tribune.
"The excitement was about us playing against each other for the first time after playing as teammates for several seasons."
Renejay used to play on the experience lane while Yawi was the primary roamer back when they played together as teammates at Nexplay.
Even before the highly-anticipated matchup between Aurora and TNC, Renejay pronounced that he idolized Yawi as a tank user and credited him with TNC's newfound success.
"He is a champion tank that my fellow roamers look up to. That was what people anticipated, not the trash talk. It would not be good for us to trash talk because we are close [friends]," Renejay said.
