LIMAY, Bataan — Bataan residents no longer have to wait for a pop-up Kadiwa store to open, as the province now boasts a permanent Kadiwa store.
The store, which opened on 13 March 2025, is the first permanent Kadiwa store in Central Luzon and is located at Limay Park in Barangay Reformista.
The opening ceremony was attended by Bataan Second District Representative Abet Garcia, Limay Mayor Richie David and other local officials, who expressed their support for the project. The initiative aims to make essential goods more accessible at affordable prices while providing local farmers and fisherfolk with a platform to sell their produce directly to consumers.
The establishment of the permanent store aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s “Kadiwa ng Pangulo” program.
The project was funded by the Department of Agriculture, with Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. overseeing the allocation of a P5-million grant under the Enhanced Kadiwa Financial Grant to support the initiative.
The Kadiwa Store in Limay will support 28 farmers’ cooperatives and associations, benefiting a total of 3,826 members.
By directly connecting producers to consumers, the store is expected to boost local economies. The opening of this permanent Kadiwa Store sets a precedent for the establishment of similar stores in other areas of Central Luzon.
