The Bureau of Immigration (BI) disclosed on Sunday that its operatives arrested two foreign fugitives wanted in their home countries.
Authorities identified the apprehended suspects as Hussam Aldeen Mohd Kamiel Ghanem, a Jordanian national, who was nabbed on 11 March at the bureau’s Manila office while attempting to extend his tourist visa.
BI officials later confirmed he was wanted in Jordan for issuing a bouncing check.
The following day, Chinese national Peng Quanbin was arrested at his Makati residence.
He is accused of theft and cybercrimes in China and is linked to hacking schemes that caused losses exceeding $414,000.
Both men are in the bureau’s custody, awaiting deportation.
