Threat actors are continuously evolving, prompting a global cybersecurity firm to strengthen its defenses. With a recent rebranding and strategic acquisition, the company aims to fortify its leadership in technology across the Asia-Pacific region.
On Friday, top officials of the former Micro-D International (MDI) Inc. announced their rebranding to NOVARE, alongside the acquisition of a 100 percent stake in Appistoki, a firm specializing in Salesforce solutions.
Appistoki serves clients in the United States, Singapore, India, Indonesia, Ireland and the Philippines.
With over 30 years of experience, NOVARE specializes in software development, IT infrastructure, data analytics, and cybersecurity, consistently exceeding industry expectations.
According to William Yu, chief technology officer of NOVARE, the company’s clients include major banking institutions, telecommunications firms, and government agencies, with cybersecurity being a key focus area.
“A major part of NOVARE’s business is cybersecurity. We provide product solutions, services, and tools dedicated to this field. The number of data breaches in the country has increased substantially in recent years,” Yu said in a press conference when asked about ensuring protection against cyberattacks.
“We are witnessing a shift in cyber threats. Last year, ransomware attacks were predominant. Now, we are seeing a rise in credential theft and vulnerabilities in credential use. Threat actors are becoming increasingly creative, and with this trend, our cybersecurity business will continue to expand,” he added.
Yu noted that NOVARE is currently focused on the telecommunications and banking industries but anticipates broader cybersecurity applications in the coming years. The company currently serves more than 50 clients in cybersecurity alone.
