The House Quad-Committee said it has not received any official information regarding an alleged arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against former President Rodrigo Duterte.
Its chairman, Congressman Robert Ace Barbers, emphasized that they will not cooperate with the ICC’s investigation into Duterte’s war on drugs.
"During the second hearing of the Quad-Committee, we made it clear that we have no participation in the ICC, and we will not provide them with any documents," Barbers said in a radio interview on Sunday.
He added that while the hearings are publicly available on social media, the committee will not directly turn over transcripts or evidence to the ICC.
"As the President has stated, we will not cooperate and will not submit to the ICC's request because we are not a member," he reiterated.
The Philippines formally withdrew from the ICC in 2019 under Duterte’s leadership, following the court’s announcement that it would investigate alleged crimes against humanity committed during his administration’s anti-drug campaign.
President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. also echoed Duterte’s stance, refusing to recognize the ICC’s authority and rejecting any cooperation with the tribunal.
