After scoring two straight knockout wins on Mexican soil, world No. 1 super-bantamweight Carl Jammes Martin brings his punching prowess when he makes his US debut on 22 March in Las Vegas.
Represented by Viva Promotions of Sean Gibbons, the southpaw Martin battles Colombian banger Jose “El General” Sanmartin at Mandalay Bay.
Martin, 25, has racked up two stoppage wins in Tijuana and Culiacan and is aiming to add the South American to his growing list of victims.
Currently, Martin is rated No. 1 by the World Boxing Organization 122-lb division and is eager to keep his lofty rating intact in anticipation of Naoya Inoue’s rise to featherweight.
Sanmartin, who hails from the city of Barranquilla, poses a serious threat to the Filipino puncher since he packs a 35-9-1 win-loss-draw record with 21 knockouts.
Martin, who relocated to Sin City last year, holds an unblemished 25-0-0 slate with 20 knockouts.
Nicknamed “Wonder Boy,” Martin is one of the country’s brightest prospects for a world crown.
