Manila City Administrator Bernardito C. Ang stressed on Tuesday that the local government of Manila accepts donations that are endorsed by reputable and long-standing legitimate organizations and therefore presumes that everything is in order.
Ang issued the statement in reaction to recent reports saying the Manila Police received motorbikes from the men apprehended recently by the National Bureau of Investigation and branded as spies, a charge strongly denied by the Beijing government.
“Any person or organization that wishes to donate is acceptable to the city government, especially if the donations are made through reputable organizations like the Chinese federation,” Ang said.
