Candidates advocating for food security and agriculture are seen to be favored by voters in the upcoming May 2025 elections, according to a commissioned survey by Social Weather Stations (SWS).

The survey, commissioned by the independent think tank Stratbase, indicates that the results align with a previous poll conducted in January 2025. That poll showed food security, agriculture, and the high prices of goods as the public's top concerns.

In comparison, last month’s survey found that 94 percent of voters prefer candidates focused on job creation, agricultural development, and food security.

Meanwhile, 81 percent of voters favor candidates who aim to lower the prices of goods and services.

Stratbase president Dindo Manhit explained that the survey highlights Filipinos' priorities as food inflation continues to affect households. He emphasized that voters view food security and a strong agricultural sector as key factors in reducing high prices and addressing poverty and hunger.

The SWS survey was conducted between 15 and 19 February 2025, with 1,800 respondents, and has a 2 percent margin of error.
