Sixty newly appointed prosecution attorneys have completed their assimilation training and are ready to begin their duties, the Department of Justice (DoJ) announced Tuesday.
The attorneys, appointed by Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin C. Remulla to bolster the National Prosecution Service (NPS), completed the 10-day Comprehensive Prosecutors’ Assimilation Training recently.
The training serves as the DoJ-NPS’s onboarding program, designed to prepare new prosecutors for their role in the criminal justice system. It reinforces ethical standards, legal responsibilities, and decision-making skills necessary for prosecutorial work.
Undersecretary Jesse Hermogenes T. Andres, the supervising official of the prosecution service, underscored the prosecutors’ critical role in the justice system during his message to the new appointees.
Deputy City Prosecutor of Manila Maria Gene Sarmiento, who served as course manager, led the participants in reciting the Prosecutor’s Credo, affirming their commitment to integrity and justice.
“Never waver in our commitment to uphold the rule of law with mastery and consistency for the sake of delivering real justice for all in real time,” Remulla said.
