Engaged Thai actors Newyear Kitiwhut and Both Nuttapong have left fans stunned with the announcement of their breakup.
Kitiwhut took to Instagram on 15 February, just a day after Valentine’s, to reveal that they had actually ended their relationship two months ago.
"Dear followers, hello, it's Newyear. I want to update you on my relationship with Both. We have been separated for two months now. The decision came after I broke an important agreement between us, along with other issues," he wrote.
Despite the heartbreak, Kitiwhut assured fans that they are parting on good terms.
"We mutually agreed to go our separate ways and live the lives we each want. Right now, we remain good brothers to each other. Thank you to everyone who has always supported us. I sincerely apologize for disappointing you. I also want to say sorry to Both from the bottom of my heart—I take full responsibility for my mistakes," he added.
As of now, Nuttapong has yet to release his own statement.
The couple first announced their engagement in September 2023 through a heartfelt Instagram post, sharing a series of romantic photos. The final image surprised fans, showing their hands adorned with matching engagement rings.
In June 2024, Nuttapong formally proposed to Kitiwhut again, following Thailand’s landmark decision to legalize same-sex marriage—the first country in Southeast Asia to do so.
The duo rose to fame through several Thai BL dramas, most notably the 2021 romantic series Top Secret Together, where they played a couple. Their onscreen romance soon turned into a real-life love story—one that has now come to an unexpected end.
