Released this month in the local market, the ZTE Nubia V70 Max is a budget-friendly yet robust smartphone for consumers seeking affordability without sacrificing essential features.

The Nubia V70 Max is built with durability in mind, featuring drop resistance up to 1.5 meters and an IP54 rating, making it resistant to dust and water splashes—ideal for the tropical and unpredictable Philippine climate.

The phone supports dual Nano-SIM cards, a crucial feature for Filipinos who often juggle multiple networks for better connectivity and promos.

Sporting a 6.9-inch IPS LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, the V70 Max offers smooth scrolling and decent visuals. While the 720 x 1600 resolution may not be the sharpest, it ensures battery efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Under the hood, it runs on Android 15, powered by a Unisoc T606 chipset with an octa-core processor, making it capable of handling everyday tasks, social media browsing, and casual gaming.

We tested the unit on popular gaming titles like Call of Duty Mobile, and it performed smoothly, handling medium settings without noticeable lag. We can attribute the reasonably pleasant gaming experience to the Mali-G57 MP1 GPU.

As many use smartphones for movie and TV series binges, we tested the Nubia V70 Max by streaming a wide range of titles, and it delivered a satisfactory experience with decent color reproduction and consistent performance.

Filipino consumers who value storage flexibility will appreciate the dedicated microSDXC slot, alongside 128GB of internal storage with 6GB or 8GB RAM variants. The dual-camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor with PDAF for clear shots and a 2MP auxiliary lens.

Selfie lovers get an 8MP front camera, sufficient for video calls and social media posts. The camera system performs well in daylight, capturing sharp and vibrant images, though low-light performance is modest.

Staying connected is easy with dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, and NFC (availability depends on the region). It also retains the beloved 3.5mm headphone jack, a practical feature for many Filipinos.

Meanwhile, the 6000mAh battery ensures long-lasting usage, while the 22.5W fast charging capability provides quick top-ups—perfect for users always on the go. With its large battery, users can expect a full day’s worth of gaming, streaming, and general smartphone use without needing to recharge frequently.

With its durable build (the matte green should appeal to the young), decent performance, and massive battery, the ZTE Nubia V70 Max is an excellent value-for-money offering for Filipinos.
